Launch Statement

Having been an established presence in the legal sector in the region for many years, I am delighted to have launched my own independent legal firm in the Borders. After 22 happy and productive years helping to jointly run one of the largest full-service legal firms in the area, it has been my long-term goal to concentrate on employment law and more commercial work, alongside my long-standing civil litigation practice.

With demand for business and commercial law continuing to grow, I realised there was a need to develop this particular area of professional practice to provide services locally. Seven years ago, I launched Borders Employment Law, providing employers with a specialist legal service which is dedicated to law in the workplace. That service has expanded to include representing individuals, confirming the need for advice locally which has previously been difficult to obtain.

Now as sole practitioner in Burke Legal, I can focus on this specialist service alongside providing my clients with a wide and seamless range of commercial, business, and personal legal representation. I will continue to operate Borders Employment Law in tandem with newly formed Burke Legal.

Whether it’s commercial law or representing the individual, I am well known as a local solicitor who clients know they can come to whenever they need help and advice, indeed many of my clients recommend me to their own friends, family, and professional contacts.
